When the clients of this Whangamata home requested a kitchen that would reflect their eclectic style, designer Rose Kavanagh delivered a space that’s full of character and charm.
The original concept of a black kitchen evolved into something much more dynamic. A 20mm Dekton Radium benchtop from the Industrial Collection adds a raw, industrial edge to the design, contrasting with the warmwood tones to create visual interest. Continuing this theme is a 12mm Dekton Trilium splashback.
The kitchen isn’t just a feast for the eyes; it’s highly functional, too. Blum Tandem box drawers and a space-saving Blum Space Tower pantry make excellent use of the available space, providing ample storage and easy accessibility. The cabinetry was carefully positioned to smooth out the home’s irregular walls and raked ceiling, creating clean sight-lines.
The bespoke table top was crafted from a slab of elm. This cosy window seat area provides a perfect place torelax with coffee or chat with friends, further enhancing the sense of warmth and individuality in the space.
Integrated Fisher & Paykel appliances, along with the thoughtful addition of LED lighting under the floating shelves and cabinets, ensure that this kitchen is as functional as it is inviting. Every detail perfectly balances form and function in this stunning Coromandel kitchen.
