Redefining modern elegance

Innovation & style

The heart of a home resides in its kitchen, and when it comes to redefining modern elegance, this kitchen and scullery crafted by the talented Grace Dear from Mastercraft Kitchens.

Christchurch, is an exemplar of innovation and style. Nestled within a new subdivision, this kitchen and pantry duo marry clean aesthetics with minimalist functionality, all while resonating with the principles of contemporary Scandi design.

The aesthetic allure of this kitchen is captured by the cabinets that elegantly extend upwards from Snowdrift Naturale under bench, to Aged Ash Melteca overhead doors, adding depth and texture to the room’s ambiance. Laminex, a trusted name in cabinet suppliers, provides the material for these cabinets, ensuring both quality and style are intertwined.

However, the true showstopper lies in the main bench with dual waterfall ends in exquisite engineered stone (in Calacatta Premium courtesy of The Stone Group). The large stainless steel single bowl sink, a testament to functionality, harmoniously integrates into the bench, maintaining the clean lines that define this space.

Embracing the essence of minimalism, the kitchen design plays with a white-on-white palette, allowing natural light to reflect off surfaces and giving a sense of spaciousness. Hafele’s soft-close hardware, a hallmark of superior craftsmanship, becomes the quiet yet impactful partner in this culinary symphony, accentuating every interaction within the kitchen.

To facilitate a sense of ease and elegance, many of the more functional components of a modern kitchen are cleverly hidden away in the scullery, such as the fridge. The scullery also boasts a stylish HPL benchtop in Laminex White Valencia, creating a cohesive design narrative throughout the culinary space and providing the extra real estate for cookers, fryers, toasters, and tea and coffee making equipment.

Back out in the main kitchen, dual ovens and a 900mm cooktop offer plenty of room for culinary creativity.

In a world where kitchens are no longer just functional rooms but spaces of artistry and innovation, this design stands tall as an epitome of this paradigm shift. The collaboration between Mastercraft Kitchens Christchurch and Grace Dear produces a kitchen that not only serves meals but also serves up conversations, memories, and interaction.

Designer
I have been happily employed in the joinery industry since 2016, initially working on the production side. In 2019 I changed tools to join the design area with Mastercraft Kitchens in Christchurch. I enjoy designing so much and embarked on a Diploma in Kitchen Design through the NKBA. I get great satisfaction from taking a project from the client brief right through to seeing a fun and functional space installed in their home. It is super exciting to see a design come to life on site, and then see how much my clients enjoy it!
