Contemporary Architectural Kitchens

This kitchen in Kapiti, designed by Amber R N Downie, delivers a modern bach vibe with a minimalist twist. The project was a full renovation, transforming the kitchen, laundry, and window seating into a seamless, functional space. The client’s request for clean lines and minimal clutter resulted in a stunning design, with a key feature being the flush 45-degree handle detail that subtly highlights the exposed ply edging.

The cabinetry is crafted from Plytech Futura HPL in Matt White and Denim, with Plytech Elite Birch A Grade oiled edging, providing a soft yet striking visual contrast. Stainless steel bench tops in the kitchen and laundry, combined with client-supplied tapware and tiles, add an industrial edge to the space, further reinforcing the minimalist aesthetic.

Hettich Atira drawers and Hettich hinging ensure seamless functionality, while Flexyled AT6 silicon strip lighting illuminates the work-spaces without overpowering the clean design. The plywood elements add warmth, giving the kitchen a cosy, beachy feel, making it a perfect retreat for a modern coastal bach.
