This bold and dynamic kitchen, designed by Vicki Segessenmann for Mastercraft Kitchens Wellington, embraces a nautical theme with a contemporary edge. Located in Paremata, Porirua, the kitchen renovation revolves around a distinctive sail-shaped benchtop, a suggestion from the homeowners. The breakfast bar, with its irregular angles, complements the overhead lighting, which mimics the shape, creating a unified design aesthetic.

Cabinetry, finished in Melteca Spinifex, combines natural wood tones with Melteca Char Blue elements, offering a subtle but effective contrast. The main benchtop, crafted from Trendstone White Galaxy engineered stone, brings a polished, refined finish to the space. Aglass splashback enhances the modern feel, reflecting light and further amplifying the sense of openness throughout the kitchen.

Thoughtfully designed storage solutions, such as the Aventos HL flap door for the on-bench pantry and Hafele Lemans corner pull-out, make this kitchen as practical as it is stylish. Smaller appliances are seamlessly hidden, maintaining the sleek and modern aesthetic. Not stopping at the kitchen, the study was also given the Mastercraft Kitchens Wellington treatment, incorporating many of the same design themes for a cohesive flow throughout the home

Designer
My passion for craft work and interiors started as a child when I would spend hours designing imaginary rooms and house plans. This led me into the curtain industry where you can transform a space with soft furnishings, then onto specifying wall coverings, flooring and window treatments to create the complete space. I have been a kitchen designer with Mastercraft Kitchens since 2013 and take pleasure in guiding my clients to achieve their kitchen vision that is both stunning and a functional workspace. Listening to each client and considering their family requirements is key in creating the best solutions for them. I am proud to be a part of the Mastercraft team here in Lower Hutt.
